Follow the stories of Claude Moore colonial farm, Kelsey Freeman, and Will Ritcher, three profiles which approach reenactment and living history in very different ways.  Yet they are all bound together in their pursuit to access the past and desire to bring it physically into the present. This thesis explores the motivations behind that desire, looking into not only how, but why individuals seek to engage with the past, the contrasting views between the importance of accuracy and authenticity, and how one comes to terms with our inherent location in the present.
